Much ado about something!
So excited about amazing things happening in the local metas. PG Matt Clark, with assistance of uber PG Tim Banky, operating out of Black Knight Games, have created the largest event Ontario, maybe even Canada, has ever seen. The Southern Ontario Open. I'll be helping out with Kingston PG Agatha Dobosz to run the Youngbloods tourney along side the Masters event. Also very excited about the Store Wars events uniting our regional meta.
My friends from the Buffalo Warmachine group are producing a fantastic Beermachine podcast. They invited me to join them on their second episode here.
Some of the stuff I'm running locally at The Toy Trove:
SUMMER RAMPAGE 2014 Check it on on Facebook.
SUPER SPECIAL STEAMROLLER Check it out on Facebook.
(that's right-Trophy kit baby!)
SCARS OF CAEN Season One Charsaug
You can find the Scars of Caen League Rules.
You can find the Season One Charsaug Info.

FOODMACHINE 2013 was a huge success. Charles Agel and Christine Cordero, Buffalo area PGs did an amazing job. Amazing group of players at the event.
And I won first place in the 35 point heat! 17 Control Points in 4 Rounds of gameplay! Would have been more but I couldn't resist a Kreoss assassination in one of my games, he's always camping so much focus and this dude was playing forward and without a stack. Jarl single-handedly blew his head off! OUCH!
Heading to Balck Knight Games this Saturday for PG Matt Clark and PG Tim Banky's "Call to Arms" SR 2014 Beta event. Should be good times! And the following Saturday is my event Valhalla Rising at The Toy Trove.
Looking forward to changing things up and throwing down some Cygnar for They Toy Trove's Journeyman League starting in January. I haven't painted in months and I'm very anxious to try out some new rust and weathering techniques on the new army.

Two great new events coming up!
JOURNEYMAN LEAGUE Jan 8 - Feb19 2014
Custom Rules for the league gives new and old players the chance to bring something a little different than the standard Battleboxes. But I highly recommend starting with a Battlebox from any given faction, especially now that there are the great alternate options available. Official Journeyman Slow Grow League Rules are located here.
AND
VALHALLA RISING
a 50 point Steamroller 2013 event with the Specialists Variant.

It's been way too long!
So, in the interim since my last post we've been holding some great monthly events: Rookie Tournament, The Team Tournament, and we just finished The Longest Night on the weekend past. We've had some great participation from the Hamilton meta (Black Knight Games folks), including PG Tim Banky, and a lot of love from our over-the-river brethren, including PG Charles Agel. It really forces our local players to step up their gameplay against these new players, and continues to foster a healthy regional meta.
The Toy Tove is now carrying more PP stock than ever before! We still have a ways to go before we see the kind of selection you find at BKG, but we're making progress. As our local meta grows and store patronage increases we'll see stock levels in the store grow to reflect new demand. Although it can be kind of a catch 22, in that sometimes it's the stock itself that draws people in.
I'll be running a Demo Day on Tues Oct 29th as part of The Toy Troves 2 year anniversary celebration. And Todd will be raffling off a battlebox to anyone who comes in to play a demo game! Looks like we'll have a fine showing from our regular group for new players to chat and play with. It's going to be a fun day! Hopefully we can recruit a couple new players. ;)

I've been busy! Organizing and arranging gaming infrastructure like tables as well as making zones, flags, and objectives for Steamroller 2013 scenarios. All the hard work payed off as our Steamroller was a big success, drawing players from Buffalo NY to London ON. Congratulations to Charles Agel, Buffalo PG, who went undefeated to win the event with his eGhaspy and pDenny lists. Congrats to runners up Joel Abbas and Michael Stack too!
We are now entering our second week of Machinations: Entropy. Awesome turnout the first week with our switch to Tues night gaming to accommodate peoples schedules. We even welcomed THREE new players out to the Toy Trove community, which is growing fast!
I'll be back to update you on our July event, the Rookie Tournament. It will feature quick and ruthless game-play combining the personalization of Iron Kingdoms Role Playing Game with the core mechanics of Warmachine and Hordes. Players will put army marshaling tactics aside and prepare for some intense and personal combat.

It's official! I'm a Press Ganger, plying my hobby at
In the few months since Todd invited us into his shop we've acquired 8 tables and a sufficient amount of terrain: forests, hills, walls, structures. Thanks to local gamers, MWG, and Adam at GreenLeaf Terrain for their contributions.
In
our club's first showing we donated two Battleboxes to give away during a demo day, and Todd matched us by giving away a Two Player Battlebox. I ran my debut event as a PG last week, a battlebox tourney. New
players met old and fun was had.
Looking forward to running my first Steamroller on June 22.
